{"id":7305,"date":"2010-07-26T06:48:32","date_gmt":"2010-07-26T10:48:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=7305"},"modified":"2010-07-26T06:48:32","modified_gmt":"2010-07-26T10:48:32","slug":"fia-says-red-bull-ferrari-front-wings-legal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/fia-says-red-bull-ferrari-front-wings-legal\/","title":{"rendered":"FIA says Red Bull, Ferrari front wings legal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The FIA&#8217;s Jo Bauer on Sunday eased a burgeoning controversy about flexible front wings.<\/p>\n<p>Before the German grand prix, team boss Christian Horner fended off new rumours about Red Bull&#8217;s front wing &#8211; the one infamously switched between Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel at Silverstone two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>Both RB6s wore the new wing specification throughout the Hockenheim weekend, where photographs of its extremities bending towards the ground did the rounds in rival team garages.<\/p>\n<p>In-car video footage of the Red Bull appeared to support the claims, while the photographs also depicted a bending wing on the Ferrari.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On the pictures I was shown this morning, I &#8211; nor our engineers &#8211; can explain what &#8230; it looks unusual,&#8221; McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh said.<\/p>\n<p>But shortly after Sunday&#8217;s race, FIA technical delegate Bauer issued a statement saying the Red Bull and Ferrari wings had passed rules tests.<\/p>\n<p>Whitmarsh suggested that, if legal, the other teams will be looking into copying the front wing solution.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If it is (achieved) by some clever and legitimate way, then we need to learn it very quickly,&#8221; said the Briton.<\/p>\n<p>But like Horner, Ferrari&#8217;s Stefano Domenicali denied that the photographs are evidence of illegal flexing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel it is part of the pressure, part of the game,&#8221; said the Italian.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\">\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FIA&#8217;s Jo Bauer on Sunday eased a burgeoning controversy about flexible front wings.
