{"id":7423,"date":"2010-07-30T15:20:59","date_gmt":"2010-07-30T19:20:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=7423"},"modified":"2010-07-30T15:20:59","modified_gmt":"2010-07-30T19:20:59","slug":"red-bull-not-using-f-duct-in-hungary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/red-bull-not-using-f-duct-in-hungary\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Bull not using F-duct in Hungary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Red Bull is not using its F-duct system for the twisty curves of the Hungaroring this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Team boss Christian Horner confirmed the news to Germany&#8217;s Auto Motor und Sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The reason is simple,&#8221; he said.\u00a0 &#8220;The wing without the F-duct is more efficient (in Hungary).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The report also said Ferrari is not convinced the F-duct is the best solution for the tight and twisty layout, experimenting with one car not running the downforce-stalling device in morning practice.<\/p>\n<p>Williams&#8217; Rubens Barrichello was surprised when he learned that some teams are not convinced about the F-duct at the Hungaroring.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For sure we are starting with the F-duct.\u00a0 After that, we&#8217;ll see,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another talking point in Hungary is the flexible front wings photographed on the Red Bull and Ferrari cars last weekend at Hockenheim.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am not saying they are doing something illegal,&#8221; McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh is quoted as saying.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But the fact is that the endplates are touching the ground,&#8221; he said, apparently after seeing the slow-motion video captured by FOM of the Red Bull cars in morning practice.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On the Red Bull, these end plates are even protected with a shield.\u00a0 We can&#8217;t imagine how it&#8217;s getting that low,&#8221; added Whitmarsh.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\">\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Red Bull is not using its F-duct system for the twisty curves of the Hungaroring this weekend.
