{"id":7450,"date":"2010-07-31T10:10:13","date_gmt":"2010-07-31T14:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=7450"},"modified":"2010-07-31T10:10:13","modified_gmt":"2010-07-31T14:10:13","slug":"berger-not-eyeing-return-to-f1-paddock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/berger-not-eyeing-return-to-f1-paddock\/","title":{"rendered":"Berger not eyeing return to F1 paddock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gerhard Berger has admitted he is not currently interested in returning full-time to the formula one paddock.<\/p>\n<p>After retiring in 1997, the ten-time grand prix winner returned to F1 as BMW&#8217;s joint boss until 2003, and three years later bought half of Toro Rosso.<\/p>\n<p>The 50-year-old Austrian sold his share back to Red Bull&#8217;s Dietrich Mateschitz in 2008, and told the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper on Saturday that he has no regrets.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am currently busy with a number of projects and have no withdrawal symptoms,&#8221; said Berger.<\/p>\n<p>His interview was for the Hungaroring&#8217;s celebration of its 25th grand prix this weekend.\u00a0 Team figures and drivers gathered in the paddock on Friday to cut a huge birthday cake.<\/p>\n<p>Berger contested Hungary&#8217;s first world championship race, in 1986.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was for me one of the most interesting developments in formula one &#8212; a race in the Eastern Bloc!&#8221; he recalled.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\">\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gerhard Berger has admitted he is not currently interested in returning full-time to the formula one paddock.
