{"id":7654,"date":"2010-08-09T07:07:49","date_gmt":"2010-08-09T11:07:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=7654"},"modified":"2010-08-09T07:07:49","modified_gmt":"2010-08-09T11:07:49","slug":"mercedes-still-committed-to-f1-haug","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/mercedes-still-committed-to-f1-haug\/","title":{"rendered":"Mercedes still committed to F1 &#8211; Haug"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mercedes is still committed to formula one, the German marque&#8217;s competition boss Norbert Haug insists.<\/p>\n<p>Despite reuniting Ferrari&#8217;s old &#8216;dream team&#8217; of Michael Schumacher alongside Ross Brawn after buying Brawn GP for a fully works effort in 2010, the Brackley based outfit has now turned its attention almost exclusively to next year&#8217;s title challenge.<\/p>\n<p>So although the desired results have not come in 2010, Haug says the Mercedes paymasters remain committed to the sport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve cut our budget drastically and we are still in F1, while other manufacturers have left,&#8221; Haug is quoted by L&#8217;Equipe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We still think it is a good investment, even though our results have not been positive.\u00a0 When you win titles, you know how to win them again.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The most important thing now is to stick together, and that is what we intend to do,&#8221; added the German.<\/p>\n<p>Haug continued: &#8220;Obviously we are not where we want to be, but quite often this is how F1 works.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been in the business for a while, and Ross has as well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know that this team has the potential to do better.\u00a0 Currently we are not strong enough, but I am convinced that with a bit of time, we can catch up,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\">\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mercedes is still committed to formula one, the German marque&#8217;s competition boss Norbert Haug insists.
