{"id":8314,"date":"2010-09-10T07:25:12","date_gmt":"2010-09-10T11:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=8314"},"modified":"2010-09-10T07:25:12","modified_gmt":"2010-09-10T11:25:12","slug":"schumacher-dismayed-by-altered-monza-kerbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/schumacher-dismayed-by-altered-monza-kerbs\/","title":{"rendered":"Schumacher dismayed by altered Monza kerbs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Schumacher has expressed dismay about the changes to Monza&#8217;s kerbs for the Italian grand prix this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The FIA ordered the changes, to the area behind the apex kerbs at the famous chicanes at turns 1 and 4, to prevent a car becoming airborne after running over them.<\/p>\n<p>But the new ramped concrete sections are not universally popular, particularly with Schumacher expecting Mercedes&#8217; W01 to struggle on the high speed layout.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a pity the kerbs and not what they used to be.\u00a0 Our car is good at riding over the kerbs, but now we &#8211; and anyone else &#8211; cannot have this advantage,&#8221; he is quoted by German media.<\/p>\n<p>Schumacher also defended his countryman and friend Sebastian Vettel, after the Red Bull driver was heavily criticised for some recent mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He made a mistake.\u00a0 Why attack him like this?&#8221; the German said at Monza.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The guy wants to be world champion, so he attacks, and you make mistakes sometimes.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t think there should be a big deal made out of it,&#8221; added Schumacher.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\">\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Schumacher has expressed dismay about the changes to Monza&#8217;s kerbs for the Italian grand prix this weekend.
