{"id":8840,"date":"2010-10-05T22:28:25","date_gmt":"2010-10-06T02:28:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=8840"},"modified":"2010-10-05T22:28:25","modified_gmt":"2010-10-06T02:28:25","slug":"dutch-gp2-driver-eyes-2011-f1-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/dutch-gp2-driver-eyes-2011-f1-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Dutch GP2 driver eyes 2011 F1 debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Giedo van der Garde is hoping to make his formula one race debut in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old Dutch GP2 driver, who has previously been under contract as a F1 test driver with the Super Aguri and Spyker teams, is in talks with several teams according to his manager.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are concrete offers from two teams,&#8221; manager Jan Paul ten Hoopen is quoted by Algemeen Dagblad newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have received one contract we could sign immediately.\u00a0 But for that we need partners,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The struggling Spanish team HRT is reportedly not in the running for van der Garde&#8217;s services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It makes no sense to spend a lot of money on a seat if Giedo&#8217;s career will be finished for the following year.\u00a0 It wouldn&#8217;t be the first time it has happened to a driver,&#8221; said ten Hoopen.<\/p>\n<p>He is hoping a deal can be finalised by F1&#8217;s Abu Dhabi finale.<\/p>\n<p>Former Dutch F1 driver Jos Verstappen wrote in his latest column for De Telegraaf: &#8220;I have heard he (van der Garde) has spoken with Virgin and Lotus.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<em><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\">\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Giedo van der Garde is hoping to make his formula one race debut in 2011.
