{"id":8976,"date":"2010-10-13T07:34:57","date_gmt":"2010-10-13T11:34:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/?p=8976"},"modified":"2010-10-13T07:34:57","modified_gmt":"2010-10-13T11:34:57","slug":"sauber-not-commenting-on-panasonic-rumours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.racinginfocus.com\/rif\/formula-1\/sauber-not-commenting-on-panasonic-rumours\/","title":{"rendered":"Sauber not commenting on Panasonic rumours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sauber has refused to comment on speculation the former Toyota title sponsor Panasonic could be set to return to formula one.<\/p>\n<p>It is rumoured that officials of the Osaka-based electronics giant met with Sauber chiefs, and the team&#8217;s impressive Japanese rookie Kamui Kobayashi, at Suzuka last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The speculation is now being reported in the German-language media, including the Swiss newspaper Basler Zeitung.<\/p>\n<p>The report said Panasonic&#8217;s backing would be a &#8220;multimillion dollar commitment&#8221;, which would be further good news for Hinwil based Sauber, whose 2011 driver Sergio Perez is bringing the backing of Mexican telcom Telmex next year.<\/p>\n<p>Basler Zeitung said Sauber did not deny the Panasonic link, but would not otherwise comment.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to Toyota&#8217;s withdrawal late last year, Panasonic had signed a new commitment with the Japanese carmaker &#8211; where Kobayashi made his 2009 debut &#8211; through 2012.<br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\">\u00a0\u00a9 RIF | GMM<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sauber has refused to comment on speculation the former Toyota title sponsor Panasonic could be set to return to formula one.
