Fauzy, Liuzzi in running for HRT seat – reports

A report has named three candidates for the second race seat at HRT for 2011.

Finland’s Turun Sanomat claims the struggling Spanish team reduced by 20 per cent its financial demands for the first seat, with Indian Narain Karthikeyan’s sponsors including the carmaker Tata reportedly to pay $8 million.

Reportedly in the bidding race for the other seat are Italian Davide Valsecchi, who impressed at the end-of-season Abu Dhabi test, and departed Lotus third driver Fairuz Fauzy.

Meanwhile, Turun Sanomat and the Swiss newspaper Blick both report that Vitantonio Liuzzi is also a contender, with EUR 2 million on the table due to Force India needing to buy out the 29-year-old’s 2011 contract.
