New sponsor deals for Schumacher, Alonso

Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso have inked new personal sponsorship deals ahead of the 2010 season.

When Nico Rosberg is testing the Mercedes GP W01 car at Jerez on Wednesday morning, his teammate Schumacher will be in Munich for the official announcement of his new backers.

Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport said the deals are with fashion labels Jet Set and Navyboot.

The two companies are reportedly part of the Gaydoul group, headed by the Swiss ice hockey chief Philippe Gaydoul.

Auto Motor und Sport suggested the logos of the brands will be added to Schumacher’s Mercedes overalls in 2010.

Meanwhile, Spanish reports reveal that new Ferrari driver Alonso has renewed his sponsorship deal with Silestone, a Spain-based multinational kitchen supplier owned by Cosentino.

The 28-year-old, who will kick off Ferrari’s Jerez test on Wednesday morning, signed the extension during a visit to Almeria, but the deal reportedly does not involve actual car, overall or cap signage.
