Series In The Spotlight As Part Of Discovery Special

Global Leader of Green Racing helping to lead ‘The Energy Revolution’

The efforts of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón to help develop alternative energy solutions are part of the Discovery Channel’s ground-breaking television series “Powering the Future.” The four-part special – which examines the global search for clean and renewable energy sources – begins with an episode titled The Energy Revolution.

Set to air at 8 and 11 p.m. ET on Friday on Discovery, The Energy Revolution will explore the shift in energy sources and uses. Not surprisingly, a rulebook which encourages open competition and freedom of technological advancements provides a perfect testing ground for new energies. As the Global Leader of Green Racing, the Series allows the use of five alternative energy sources: E10, E85, clean and sulfur-free diesel, isobutanol and hybrid technology.

The world’s premium manufacturers in the automotive industry – BMW, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Mazda, Michelin and Yokohama, just to name a few – participate in the American Le Mans Series today in order to test and deploy tomorrow’s automotive technologies for their road car fleets. In addition to fuel technologies, manufacturers also continually develop improvements in drivetrains, lightweight constructions, aerodynamic efficiencies and many other areas that all fit into the puzzle of helping to solve the puzzle of the world’s energy issues.
