Alonso set for first official Ferrari appearance

Fernando Alonso will on Monday make his debut in the red of Ferrari’s official team gear.

The end of 2009 also saw the expiry of the Spaniard’s former Renault contract, meaning he can attend Ferrari’s traditional media event next week at the Madonna di Campilglio ski resort as a fully-fledged Scuderia driver.

Alonso, 28, also attended Ferrari’s end of season Finali Mondiali event at Valencia in mid-November, but due to his Renault contract had to wear casual clothing.

Ferrari confirmed on Saturday that the double world champion will touch down in the Italian Dolomites for the ‘Wroom’ event on Monday afternoon.

The Maranello based team also confirmed that its 2010 car, codenamed 281, will debut at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit on 1 February.

Elsewhere, it has emerged that Alonso, like Felipe Massa and other Ferrari F1 drivers, will use a Schuberth helmet this season.
