Renault say Tung third driver, d’Ambrosio reserve

China’s Ho-Pin Tung was on Sunday presented by Renault as the official third driver for 2010.

It means the 27-year-old will step into the R30 at grands prix this season if either Robert Kubica or Vitaly Petrov are unable.

The Dutch born driver will also race in GP2 this year.

“It’s a very nice thing,” Tung told Reuters in Spain.  “China has had a race since 2004 but never had a Chinese involvement within a team.”

Jerome d’Ambrosio, who like Tung is a Gravity Sport-managed driver, is a reserve driver, as is Jan Charouz, even though the latter Czech did not attend the Valencia circuit for the team launch on Sunday afternoon.
