Renault shows Lada branding on 2010 car

The logos of the Russian carmaker Lada will appear on the monocoque sides of Renault’s R30 single seater in 2010.

Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin announced early this week that, with Vyborn-born Vitaly Petrov at the wheel of the Enstone built car, Lada would sponsor the team in 2010 and possibly later increase “our financial participation in the project”.

The French carmaker Renault, albeit only now with a minor shareholding in the F1 team bearing its name, owns 25 per cent of Lada’s parent Avtovaz.

“Lada branding will also appear on the overalls and team uniform of … Petrov,” the team confirmed in a media statement.

Renault F1 chairman Gerard Lopez also revealed that team owner Mangrove Capital has been “actively investing in Russia over the last years”.
