Webber hurt hand after paddock stairs descent

Mark Webber will race with a bruise and a bandaid under his right-hand glove in today’s Malaysian grand prix.

After setting pole with an astonishing 1.3 second margin, having gambled on running on intermediate tyres at slippery Sepang, the Australian climbed the staircase to be interviewed by the world’s media.

But with the press conference over and on his descent down the stairs back into the paddock, 33-year-old Webber tripped and hurt his hand when he slapped the wall, according to the Swiss publication Blick.

However, the Red Bull driver is far from badly hurt, even though the wound briefly bled before it was covered with an adhesive bandage.
