Williams seeks 10m pounds from Icelandic bank

Williams is seeking 10m British pounds sterling (11.2m euro) from its 2009 sponsor Hamleys, according to the Sunday Times newspaper.

Early this year, the Grove based team’s Icelandic backer Baugur Group applied for court protection from its creditors.

On-car sponsor Hamleys, a London toy shop, was one of Baugur’s brands, but the newspaper reports that the failed Icelandic bank Glitnir guaranteed the sponsorship payments.
