2011 Toronto International Spring Motorcycle Show

April, 2011- Spring has sprung and that means one thing to motorcyclists – taking the bike out of storage and getting ready to hit the open road.  The Spring Motorcycle Show is the place to be on April 9th & 10th where three huge halls of the International Centre are filled with all things ‘Motorcycle’.

The recent expansion means larger displays of the New 2011 model motorcycles including touring and cruising bikes, street bikes, offroad bikes, scooters, production customs and more. There will be great deals on non-current models too. The giant Used Bike Clearance Sale is bigger and better this year for those who are looking to upgrade or shopping for their first bike.

Interested in becoming a new rider?  The Show offers attendees information on Rider Training programs, licensing and Insurance.  Wondering about the best bike for you and proper riding gear?   Vendors will be offering great advice on getting started.

Showgoers can check out features such as airbrushing and pinstriping demos, electroplating demos, the Fashion Shows by Terez Leathers, racer autograph sessions, and the Miss 2Ride Pageant. With riding season right around the corner, shopping for all the great bargains on helmets, boots, gloves and riding apparel becomes the most popular activity.

The Vintage ‘Bikes of the Century’ Display will feature significant bikes from invited clubs & private owners as well as Vincent Motorcycles from the Bar Hodgson Collection including the world’s most famous Vincent, “Gunga Din”.

Hall 6 will focus on the Showbike Builders Competition featuring top customs competing for over $20,000 in cash and awards.  From vintage and touring bikes, to street bikes and wild customs there are over 30 classes in the competition with $5,000 going to the “Best Bike in Show”.  With judging on the Builders Class now being done by the IMBBA (International Master Bike Builders Association) new wild creations from some of Canada’s top builders and shops are expected to be vying for the top prize.

This year’s Door Prize is a new Suzuki DR-Z70 dirt bike provided by Suzuki of Newmarket to be drawn on stage, Sunday, April 10th at the Show.  Admission to the Spring Motorcycle Show includes a complimentary copy of International Motorcycle Magazine and a ballot for the door prize.
