Robin Buck announces four-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series

(BOWMANVILLE, ON – June 8, 2010)  NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and road racing veteran, Robin Buck will be driving the #66 Active Green+Ross/Durabody Ford Fusion at his home track Mosport on June 13 in the Vortex Brake Pads 200 Weekend.  The Campbellville native will also compete in Series events at Toronto, Trois-Rivieres and Montreal.

Buck is looking forward to coming back to his home track where he started racing in 1981 in the Formula Ford Series.  He later competed in the Players GM Series, F2000, Escort Endurance and CASCAR.

“It’s comforting to come back to Mosport,” Buck said.  “I know the track and know what to expect.  Being familiar with everything makes a huge difference.”

The past couple of years have been frustrating for Buck.  He has had reliability issues with his engines that have forced him out of three of the six races that he has entered.  Having switched to the new NASCAR Spec engine, Buck feels that this go-round will be different.

“I think now we have the potential for a podium finish,” Buck explained. “We’ve always run well at Mosport and have won many times there with different series.  If the new motor holds up and with a little bit of luck, we will aim for the win.  That’s always first and foremost; to go out there and try to win.”

Active Green+Ross returns to sponsor Buck’s #66 Ford.  They are a premier chain of full service tire and auto centres with over 70 locations across Ontario, offering customers a complete line of and selection of tires from the world’s premier manufacturers.

“It is a continuation of the sponsorship from last year,” says Buck. “They have been really getting into racing from a promotional and marketing standpoint and have been excellent to work with.”

Founded in 1981, Durabody is a dynamic, innovative and a recognized Canadian manufacturer specializing in the design, fabrication and assembly of truck bodies, decks and built-to-spec up to 53′ trailers.

“Durabody has also been great to work with and this will be the second year that I have had them as a sponsor,” said Buck.  “Their president and CEO, Alan Shaw is a real race enthusiast.”

The green flag drops for the Vortex Brake Pads 200 at 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 13.
