USF1 car to be called ‘Type 1’

USF1’s 2010 car will be called the ‘Type 1’.

The news emerged after motor sport technology journal Racecar Engineering visited the Charlotte headquarters of the new American team.

Aspects of the car’s design “definitely buck the norm” and will “raise some eyebrows” when it is revealed to the public, a website report of the factory tour said.

The Cosworth-powered Type 1 is scheduled to debut at Alabama’s Barber Motorsport Park at the beginning of February.
